The James Castle House invites you to a VIRTUAL presentation about our Spring 2022 exhibition Ways of Knowing.

Featuring over 130 original James Castle artworks, Ways of Knowing is the result of months of thoughtful and insightful planning by guest curator Andrea Merrell. As the Collection Manager at the James Castle Collection and Archive for over two decades, Merrell has developed an incredible depth of knowledge and familiarity with James Castle’s artwork. In an exhibition that combines Merrell’s longstanding interest in philosophy and her insightful perspective on Castle’s work, we are offered a unique glimpse into the wide range of works Castle created in his lifetime.

Through this presentation, Merrell will reflect on her years of investigating Castle’s vast body of artwork and her approach to curating this exhibition.

This hour-long event will take place over ZOOM and include a presentation from Merrell followed by a brief Q&A. This event is free and open to the public. Only one registration is required per household. Live American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided.

The James Castle House encourages persons with disabilities and those who require language assistance to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing an accommodation, please email jamescastlehouse@cityofboise.org, as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the event.
